Add chicken or pork to a large pot and brown lightly. Add onion and garlic and continue cooking. Add soy sauce, vinegar and sugar to the pot and mix well. Reduce heat to medium-low and place lid on pot. Cook 45-50 minutes or until meat is tender. Be sure to stir mixture every 15 to 20 minutes to ensure all pieces of meat are covered with the sauce. Cook for 30 minutes. Serve over rice.
