     Ginger Bread

Ingredients
1 lb dark brown sugar
3/4 cup margarine
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
 
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions
Prehit oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugar, margarine and flour together as for ic crust. Setaside 1 cup of this mixture. To remaining mixture, add soda, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Mix well. Add aggs and buttermilk and mix lightly. Add nuts and pout into greased floured 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle top with reserved mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
You can substitute buttermilk with 1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice. Let set for 5 minutes.
