1. Beat shortening at medium speed with electric mixer until fluffy. Add sugars, beating well. Add eggs and beat until blended
2. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt in separate bowl. Gradually add to sugar mixture, beating until blended. Stir in coconut, cereal, vanilla and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 min. or until lightly golden. Cool on wire racks
