Fill (4 qt.) Dutch oven half full with water. Add ½ tsp salt if desired. Cover & heat over high heat until water is boiling rapidly.
Add fettuccine. Heat to boiling again. Boil uncovered for 11-13 mins. While fettuccine is cooking, continue with recipe to make the Alfredo sauce.
Heat margarine and whipping cream in a (2 qt.) saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until margarine is melted. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper until mixture is smooth.
Drain fettuccine. Place pasta in large serving bowl. Pour Alfredo sauce over the fettuccine and stir until well coated. Sprinkle with parsley.
