Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer; gradually add powdered sugar, beating until fluffy. Add flour and mix well, stir in flavorings. Place dough on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with sugar crystals. Bake at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in airtight containers, placing wax paper between layers.
