Instructions |
Dice 1/2 yellow onion and saute.
Set large pot (1-1.5 gal) water to boil
Mix 3 cups white flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 eggs, and 1 cup water in mixing bowl/mixer. This is your haluski 'drop noodle' dough.
Drop small scoops (about 1/2 to 1 tsp worth) of dough into boiling water. Do not roll or shape...noodles are traditionally 'natural' shaped.
Dough will fall to bottom of pot. After all dough has been dropped into water, cover and allow to boil for 7-8 mins. Stir once at 4 min mark.
Strain from collander, add to saute pan with onions.

Add sauerkraut, cottage cheese, and black pepper to saute pan with noodles and onions. Lightly saute for 3-5 mins covered.
