3 tbsp shortening
2 cups Aunt Jemima self-rising white buttermilk corn meal mix
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp flour
1 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 cups butter milk
1 egg, beaten
1/3-1/2 cup water

Heat oven to 425 degrees
Heat shortening in iron skillet for 3-4 min
Combine dry ingredients then add buttermilk, water and egg. Mix well.
Pour into hot skillet and bake 20-25 minutes.
