     OKTOBERFEST RED CABBAGE AND APPLES

Ingredients
2 tart red apples, sliced and peeled
3 TB margarine or butter
1 Med head Red Cabbage, coarsely shredded
1/4 C Water
1/4 C Red Wine Vinegar
2 TB Sugar (can use brown)
1 tsp Salt
1/3 tsp pepper
 

Instructions
Cook and stir apples in butter or margarine in Dutch oven over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes (at least) or until cabbage is tender.
Serving Suggestions
Side dish
