Ingredients
4 pkg dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups scalded milk
1 cup butter
2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cardamom
7 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup golden raisins
 
1/2 lb citron
1/2 lb candied cherries

Instructions
Bloom yeast in warm water, set aside
Mix the scalded milk and butter in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar, cardamom, raisins, citron, cherries and blend. Once milk has cooled to room temp, add yeast mixture. Slowly add sifted flour. Knead dough until all the flour is incorporated and the dough has an elastic texture.
Place dough into a greased bowl and set in a draft free place to rise. After the dough has doubled in size, divide into 2 loaves and place in greased loaf pans. Return the pans to the draft free location and allow dough to rise.
Bake at 350 degrees, for 40-45 minutes. Let cool in pan.
