line 8 inch square pan with foil (over-extend edges).
beat butter and PB w/ mixer until blended.
add wafer crumbs, mix well.
gradually add sugar, mix well each addition.
press into bottom of pan.
microwave frozen cool whip and chocolate 1 min, stir.
continue for 15 each time until chocolate is melted, stir until blended.
pour over pb layer, spread over pb layer to cover.
refrigerate 2 hours.
use foil handles to lift dessert from pan before cutting.
