     Apple slices

Ingredients
Crust-
2 cups flour
1/2 tea salt
2/3 cups lard
2 egg yokes
1 tbs lemon juice
1/4 cup water
Filling-
 
7 to 8 large apples
1 cup sugar
2 heaping tbs flour
1/2 tea cinnamon
Icing-
1/2 stick softened butter
1/2 to 3/4 box confectionary sugar
1 tea vanilla

Instructions
Filling- Peel, core, and slice apples. Then add sugar, flour, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Then add apples and mix well. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
Crust- combine four, salt, cut in lard with pastry cutter until completely cut in. Then beat eggs, water, and juice together. Then mix dry and liquid ingredients together until forms dough ball.
Cut dough in half with one one a little bit larger than other. Roll out dough into 2 squares One large enough to cover bottom and sides and smaller one to cover top of pan. 9x13 pan.
Put larger dough into pan with dough up the sides. Then add filling. Put top crust on. In center, make a T-slit with knife, and with fork, poke holes around the top of crust (around 6 fork marks). Pinch crust together around sides of pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes. You should be able to see bubbles from the T-slit. Cool completely. Icing- Beat together butter, vanilla, and sugar until smooth. Add a little milk if needed. Then ice top of apple slices.
