Toss all of these and put in a pan in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes til toasty
in a saucepan bring to a boil-
1 cup honey
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
2 tsp vanilla or not -
1 T. molasses, none if using dark brown sugar
In a large bowl put 2 cups of any kind of dried fruit cut in pieces
Instructions
To the large bowl with the fruit, add the toasted nuts and grains then drizzle the syrup and mix very well.
Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper, sprayed with cooking spray. Pour the mixture in and cover with another sprayed parchment sheet. press down very well. I actually have two half sheet pans so I put the other one inside the first one and stand on it to get a good firm bar. let cool cut into bars about 1 x 4 inches. Wrap each in saran or wax paper, I found that the snack size zip lock bags are perfect for these. These are really yummy. Jen and others with nut allergies, leave out the nuts and will be just as good.
I made a no tree nut recipe with just peanuts and pressed chocolate chips into the bars after they cooled.
Also I like to use the honey with the comb and have added sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and steel cuts oats.
