     Gwen's Carmels

Ingredients
2 c. sugar
2 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. butter or 1 cube
2 c. evaporated milk
 

Instructions
Mix sugar, salt and syrup. Boil to Firm Ball stage of 245 degrees. Stir often.
Gradually add the butter and evaporated milk. Keep boiling at all times.
Cook rapidly. Stir constantly to Medium Ball stage of 242 degrees.
Remove from heat. Add flavoring, if wanted and nuts.
Serving Suggestions
Poor into 9 inch square pan. Cool.
