Sift flour , measure, add baking soda and salt. Sift again.
Cream shortening - mash up really well - add sugar gradually; mix
together until light and fluffy.
Add unbeaten eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition; add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternate with milk and bananas, stirring only enough after each addition to blend thoroughly.
Pour into 2 greased 9 inch cake pans, 1 1/2 inches deep.
Bake in at 375 F about 25 minutes.
