     Irish Scones

Ingredients
1 2/3 cup self-rising flour
1/4 cup butter
2 Tblsp sugar
1/2 cup milk
pinch salt
Self-rising flour-
6 cups flour
3 Tblsp baking powder
 
1 Tblsp salt
whisk together

Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare cookie sheet with baking spray or grease lightly.
Sieve flour into large bowl with salt. Cut in butter, using fingers to crumble until mixture resembles bread crumbs. Stir in sugar and any additional flavorings or fruit (dried cranberries or raisins, white chocolate)
Using knife, stir in milk and use cutting motion until mixture resembles a soft ball.
Knead on floured surface until smooth. Roll out 1 inch thick and cut with 3 inch cutter or into triangles. Place on cookie sheet and brush tops with milk. Bake approx 10 min until tops are golden and bottoms are lightly browned.
Serving Suggestions
Jam or clotted cream
