     Ethel's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
3/4 Cups Soft Shortening (Part butter)
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 Teaspoon flavoring (vanillia or lemon, or comine both)
2 1/2 Cups sifted g.m. flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspon Salt
 

Instructions
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, eggs, and flavoring. Then sift together and still in to mixture above, flour, baking powder, and salt.
Chill at least 1 hour. Roll to 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased backing sheet, sprinkle with sugar, if desired. Bake until golden. 4-8 Minutes 400 Degree Oven Makes 4 dozen, 3 inch cookies
