     Apricot bars

Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 cups coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 jar apricot preserves
 

Instructions
In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg; mix well. In separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add butter mixture. Add coconut, nuts, and vanilla; mix thoroughly.
Press 2/3 of dough into a greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Spread with preserves; crumble remaining dough over preserves.
Bake at 350 degrees or until golden brown.
