     Cream Cheese Danish

Ingredients
2 (8 oz) cans crescent rolls
1 egg (separated)
2 (8 oz) pks cream cheese (softened)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 can almond paste (optional)
 

Instructions
Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish. Unroll 1 can of rolls and press into pan. Beat egg yolk, cream cheese 3/4 cup sugar and vanilla and almond paste if using. Spread over dough in pan. Unroll remaining can of rolls and put on top of cream cheese mixture. Whisk egg white and brush over roll dough. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Bake at 375 for about 25 minutes. When cool, cut into squares.
