1 pkg. dried pinto beans(size according to family)
1-3 lbs. ground beef (according to family)
1 large onion or 2 bundles green onions, chopped
1-2 pkg. taco seasoning mix.

Soak beans overnight, after washing. Bring beans to boil; reduce to simmer and cook 2-3 hours.
Brown beef and chopped onion in lightly oiled skillet about an hour before beans are done.
Gradually add taco seasoning to meat mixture, cooking it slowly into the meat. Dip off grease from top often.
Add the meat mixture to the beans being careful to leave out as much grease as possible.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with slaw or salad, Mexican cornbread and tea.
