     Kanella Cookies

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None
Servings   About 90 cookies
Preptime   2 hours

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
4 tbsp. whipping cream or sour cream
1/2 c. maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla
6 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped hazelnuts

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Beat in eggs, cream, maple syrup, and vanilla.
In medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In 3 batches, beat into wet ingredients. Stir in nuts with wooden spoon.
Roll dough into 1 inch ball. Then roll out into fingers roughly the size of your pinkie finger. Lay on ungreased cookie sheets in the shape of crescents, forming pairs of parentheses. If dough starts to get sticky, chill for a few minutes in the refrigerator.
Bake cookies until medium brown on edges and underneath, 20-25 minutes, rotating the pans 180 degrees mid-way through cooking. Let cool on racks.
