Cream butter and add sugar vanilla and water. Sift flour and salt together and stir into mixture. Add pecans and mix thoroughly.
Using portions about 1 tsp rounded (the size of a small walnut) roll into crescent shaped cookies. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in 325 degree oven about 20 minutes. While warm, roll in powdered sugar or just sprinkle over tops.
