Preheat oven to 350°. Beat unsalted butter until creamy, add sugar and beat until smooth. Add vanilla extract, gently stir in flour and salt until just mixed in.
Form cookies into desired shape. Place on a cookie sheet in the center of the oven.
Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown.
