     Gingerbread DOG Cookies

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None
Preptime   Quick!

1/2 cup of molasses
2 Tbsp honey
1 1/4 cups of water
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cups organic whole wheat flour
1 teas. baking soda
1/2 teas. cinnamon
1/2 teas. ground cloves
1 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh ginger-other recipes have used ground ginger. I like the fresh.

In a large bowl, combine molasses, honey, water and olive oil. In another bowl, combine and stir together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Mix dry ingredients into wet. This dough is very soft and sticky! Wrap in plastic bag (I sprayed bag with PAM to keep it from sticking) or bowl with plastic on top and refrigerate for 3-5 hours.
Roll chilled dough out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes. This will still be a pretty soft dough! Use extra WW flour to keep from sticking to pastry cloth.
Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees until bottoms are slightly browned.
Ginger has long been known to aid in the relief of nausea and diarrhea. But it's also known for the spicy and tempting flavor that it imparts to foods. The gingerbread man has been around for hundreds of years. Now, your dog can join the fun with his very own dog treat recipe. This version cuts out the sugar, and intensifies the ginger flavor for a tasty kick your dog is sure to enjoy. This cookie is not hard or crisp; instead, it is a very soft cake like cookie. Granddaughter Trinity loves them!
