Start by sauteing the garlic and onions in a little bit of olive oil until they start to brown. Once browning, add the frozen broccoli and allow it to defrost and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 4 cups of vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Add the nutritional yeast and season with salt. Let it simmer (covered) for about 10 minutes.
Transfer to a Vitamix and puree until smooth. Pulse until you have a thick soup with just a few chunks, then add back to the saucepan to heat through.
Stir in the cheese until melted. Serve with dollop of yogurt and a few sprinkles of cheese.
