     Crunchy Farmhouse Bread

1/2 tsp sugar
1 c warm water
2 tsp active dry yeast
2 T honey
2 T butter
1 egg beaten
2 1/2 c white flour approx
3/4 c whole wheat flour
1/4 c quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 c cornmeal
1/4 c natural bran
1/4 c millet or sesame seeds
1 tsp salt

Dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle in the yeast and let stand for 10 min. Whisk in honey butter and egg. Then add flour and rest of ingredients holding back 1/2 a cup of the white flour. add as needed when kneading. Allow to rise for 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and shape into a round loaf. Cover with towel and allow to rise for 45 min to 1 hour. Using a serated knife slash to with a x and o grid adding one more vertical and horizontal line to the pattern. Bake at 375 oven for 45 min.
Make in a bread maker following bead machine instructions for adding liquid and dry ingredients. I still bake in a regular oven
