Clean & wash the corn. Cut the corn off the cob & scrape into a large skillet with the butter in it. Add water, salt & pepper & simmer for about 20 minutes. Add cornstarch in water & simmer another 10-15 minutes. This is something my grandmother flXed a lot but I got the recipe from my Aunt Mary Sue. You can make a great meal with fried corn, fresh green beans, fresh tomatoes & cornbread. The perfect summer dinner.
