Melt butter and chocolate over low heat in a heavy sauce pan.
Add milk and stir until well blended.
Add sugar and beat until smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve over ice cream or with fruit.
Keeps well in the refrigerator. Makes 2 cups
