     Pickled Okra

Ingredients
1 cup water
1 qt. white vinegar
1/2 cup salt
1 tsp dill seed
1 red hot pepper (optional)
1 clove garlic
Fresh Okra
 

Instructions
Wash and trim stem on okra to even length (about 1/2 inch). Pack into pint jars alternating stem and blooms ends. Put pepper, dill seed, and garlic into jar with okra.
Mix vinegar, salt, and water. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Fill jar to cover okra. Let stand at least one month.
