     Italian Sausage Lasagna

Ingredients
1 pound Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
3 Tablespoons dried parley flakes, divided
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can whole tomatoes, chopped and undrained
2 (8 ounces) cans tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
12 dried lasagna noodles
1 (15 ounce) carton ricotta cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mozarella cheese
2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
Remove and discard casings from sausage. Cook sausage, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until sausage crumbles; drain. Stir in 2 Tablespoons parsley, tomatoes, and next 4 ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes or until sauce is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside. Combine remaining parsley, ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, and oregano; set aside. Spread 1 cup meat mixture in a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. top with 4 noodles, 1 cup ricotta cheese mixture, 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese, and 4 more noodles. Spread remaining ricotta cheese mixture over noodles, and top with 1 cup meat mixture, 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese, and remaining 4 noodles. Top with remaining neat mixture and mozzarella cheese, sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
