Melt chocolate; add salt, sugar and 1 pint of milk. Cook until mixture begins to thicken. Then add 2 1/2 quarts of scalded milk and vanilla. Serve hot with marshmallows.
This may be made in advance, chilled and served cold. Fresh, evaporated, or reconstituted dry milk may be used.
