Butter a baking dish and put in a layer of thinly sliced apples. Sprinkle with sugar--the amount depends upon the tartness of the apples--and cover with a layer of buttered bread or toast. Add another layer of apples and sugar adn sprinkle with mixed lemon and orange juice. Use remaining bread spread liberally with orange marmalade as topping. Bake for about 45 minutes in a reflector oven.
