Line up the ingredients and brace yourself for
something very special indeed. Hollow out the hard-
crusted Italian bread. Rare cook the steaks [they
will continue to cook whilst in the sandwich]. Fry
the bacon, onions and mushrooms

Place one of the cooked steaks in the hollowed out
bread. Apply condiments of your choosing- The
anonymous ‘chef’ used Worchester Sauce, Dijon
Mustard and horseradish. Layer the cooked bacon on
top of the steak and sauces.Place a layer of Swiss
cheese over the bacon. Stuff in as much of the
mushroom and onion mixture as you can. Place the
other steak along with the juices from the pan on
top of the now layered first steak. Add more
sauce. Top off with another layer of Swiss cheese.
Place the top half of the hard-crusted Italian
bread back on.

Wrap in butcher’s paper. Wrap in foil. Place a heavy
cutting board on top of the sandwich to squish it
down. Now weigh it down and wait. [the anonymous
chef suggests the following- ‘140lbs of weight and
let it sit for 4 hours'].

Remove the weight. Slice in half and enjoy the
‘Ultimate Sandwich’.
