     Melt In Your Mouth Suagr Cookie

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
 

Instructions
In a large mixing bowl beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium - high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Beat until combined, scarping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much flour as you can. Stir in reming flour.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 300 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until sides are set (do not let edges get brown.) Cool on cookie sheets for one minute. Transfer to wire cooking rack and let cool.
