Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add onion and garlic; cook 3 - 4 min. or until onion begins to soften. Add 1 T. of bourbon. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook 8 - 10 minutes or until onion is tender; stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients except remaining bourbon and ribs, mix well. Increase heat to medium; bring to a boil
simmer uncovered, 20 - 30 minutes or until thick syrup, stirring frequently. Remove from heat Stir in remaining bourbon, set aside, reserving 3 T. sauce for brushing on ribs.
Meahwhile, arrange ribs in 13 x 9 microwave safe dish. Cover loosely with microwave safe plastic wrap. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Microwave on medium for 30 minutes or until tender & no longer pink; rearranging & turning ribs once during cooking.
When ready to grill, carefully oil grill rack. Heat grill; place ribs on gas grill over medium heat. Cook 25 - 35 minutes or until browned, turning frequently & brushing with reserved sauce
