Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tarter and sugar. Cut in Shortening. Mak a well in the center and add 2/3 Cup milk. Roll out on a floured board to 1/2 inch thick. Cu in traditional circle or into shapes. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet in a hot oven (450 degrees) for 10-12 min. Makes about 16 medium biscuits.
