     Dill Pickles

Ingredients
Slice pickles long way in fill jars
3 cups sugar
4 cups vinegar
2 cups water
1/3 cups pickling salt
Dill (in each jar)
Onions (in each jar)
1/8 teaspoon alum (in each jar)
 

Instructions
Slice pickles long way and pack in jars with dill, onions, dill and alum. Boil sugar, vinegar, water and pickling salt, then pour over pickles in jars. Put lids in and put in a canner and cook. Do not boil then seal.
