1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
5 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350 and grease a loaf pan.
Beat butter and sugar on medium-high until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, and gradually add the eggs. Switch mixer to low, add salt, and gradually add flour.
Transfer batter to loaf pan and bake for 65 minutes. Use a toothpick to test the cake - only a few moist crumbs should stick to the toothpick.
Let cool in pan on a wire rack for 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool completely.
