     French Toast Strata

Ingredients
1 POUND LOAF FRENCH BREAD (CUBED)
1 (8 OZ) PACKAGE CREAM CHEESE
8 EGGS
2 1/2 CUP HALF & HALF
2 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
1/4 CUP MAPLE SYRUP
 

Instructions
Cube bread and put in 9x13-inch pan. Arrange cream cheese evenly over bread. Beat together remaining ingredients and pour over bread-cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
PREHEAT OVEN TO 325 DEGREES. Bake for 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before topping.
TOPPING. Stir together in sauce pan til thick and bubbly (1/2 Cup Sugar, 4 teaspoons cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 Cup Apple Cider, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice). Add 2 tablespoons butter and syrup; stir until melted. Pour over strata and serve.
