Preheat oven to 450. Line an ungreased 9-inch pie pan with pastry dough. Mix 2tblsp of the flour ad 1/4 cup sugar, blending thouroughly, and sprinkle over the bottom of the pie shell. Arrangle apple halves, core side up, in the pie shell.
In a medium sized bowl, combine the egg and milk, pur over the apples. In a seperate bowl, blend the remaining 2tblsp of flour with the remaining 3/4 cups of sugar and the cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle over the apple halves.
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 325 and bake 30 minutes or until custard is firm and an inserted knife comes out clean.
