1 package (about 18 oz) yellow cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans, divided
1 container (16 oz) cream cheese frosting
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 24 standard (2 1/2-inch) muffin cups with paper baking cups.
2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chips and 3/4 cup walnuts. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups.
3) Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
4) Stir frosting and peanut butter in medium bowl until well blended.
5) Frost cupcakes; sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cups chocolate chips and 3/4 cup walnuts.
