Pop the stems off the beans and break them into bite size pieces.
Cut the ham steak into bite size pieces.
Add beans and ham to 3-4 cups of water and simmer for 20 minutes
In a separate pan wash and cut red potatoes into bite sized pieces.
Cook the potatoes until soft, about 20 minutes.
Drain potatoes and add to beans and ham after they have been cooked through.
Add 2 Tbs. flour to 1/3 cup whipping cream, stir together and add to beans, ham and potatoes for thickening.
Bring to a quick boil and then back to simmer. Keep stirring.
At this point decide if you want it thinner or not. If you want it thinner add whipping cream. Add salt and pepper to taste.
