     Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup soft shortening (or margarine)
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine shortening(margarine), sugar and eggs. Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Chill dough for about 20 minutes.
Mix together 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll into sugar/ cinnamon mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Place in oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
