     Southern Pound Cake

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
pinch of salt
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add in the vanilla and salt. Add in the sifted flour, beating just until well combined. Pour batter into buttered and floured tube pan. (I prefer a silicon Bundt-style pan.) Bake for one hour or until a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
Frost cooled cake with Mom's Hot Fudge Sauce/Frosting poured over the cake. Enjoy!
