     Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 pound unsalted butter at room temp.
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 extra-large eggs at room temp.
2- 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1-12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips or more
1/2 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and two sugars until light and fluffy with electric mixer. Add vanilla, then eggs, one at a time, mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt and add to butter mixture. Just until combined...Stir in chocolate chips Drop dough on baking sheet ( can line with parchment paper)... Use small ice cream scoop or rounded tablespoon for dough. More flour makes a fatter cookie!
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or so until light Adjust for altitude......
Serving Suggestions
I use pre-sifted flour and stir in soda and salt....can use darker brown sugar-----I use Madagascar Bourbon vanilla extract--from williams sonoma
