     Oatmeal Whole Wheat Bread

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None
Preptime   20 minutes

1 1/3 cups hot (not boiling) water
5 Tablespoons butter (softened on countertop first)
2 2/3 tablespoon sugar - I use honey - nicer flavor
1 1/3 cups oats - I use Quaker Oats - Tall Container
1 cup Bread whole wheat flour - I used King Arthur
1 1/3 cup Bread white flour - I use King Arthur
6 Tablespoon of Buttermilk powder
2 1/2 teaspoon rapid rise yeast - Red Star is best

In a large bowl - put the water, butter and honey together in the bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the salt, oats, whole wheat and white bread flours and buttermilk powder. Mix well with a fork. Once mixed...add the yeast and then pour the liquid mixture to the dry mixture. Mix with floured hands until mixed - don't mix too much, but make sure all are combined. In an oiled grease large bowl, add the bread mixture shaped into a ball. Cover with plastic and/or towel and place in a warm place to raise. Will take about 2 hours. Once it's doubled in size...punch down and place in a bread loaf pan; put aside to rise to double in size. When one - bake in 350 degree oven until baked and crust is brown. When you knock on the bread, it should have a hollow sound - that means that its done.
Serving Suggestions
mix 1 stick with softened butter with honey to taste - put on crust. Also, when you have a slice, smear the butter/honey mixture on the slice - yum!
