Crush Oreo cookies (I put in baggie and use rolling pin). Place half of the bag on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix together the cream cheese, butter or margarine, and powdered sugar; add the pudding, milk, Cool Whip, and vanilla. Place the mixture on top of the crushed Oreos. You can either add the remaining Oreos to the mixture or you can sprinkle them on top. Refrigerate 1 hour.
