Beat margarine till creamy. Add sugar and mix well. Add pumpkin and mix in egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients in separate bowl and blend into pumpkin mixture. Add chocolate chips and stir. Drop onto cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
