Preheat oven to 350.
Grease muffin pans.
In medium bowl, mix sugar and butter.
Beat eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
Combine the flour and baking powder, add to the sugar mixture and mix well.
Finally stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
Spoon into muffin pan. Fill about 2/3 full.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Mix all ingredients together.
When cupcakes are cooled, frost each with icing.
