     Masala Onion Rings

Ingredients
1 large onion, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 1/4 cup chickpea flour (also called besan, available in any indian grocery store)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
salt to taste
1 pinch red chili power
1 pinch tumeric
1 pinch garam masala (available at any indian grocery store)
1 quart oil for frying
 

Instructions
Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 365 degrees.
Separate onion slices into rings. Stir together the chickpea flour, salt, garam masala, turmeric, and red chili powder into mixing bowl. Coat onion slices with mixture and set aside. Add water into flour mixture, stir with fork, and dip floured rings into batter to coat.
Deep fry rings until golden brown. Season with salt.
