Preheat oven to 400. Put liners in 12 muffin tins. Stir topping
ingredients together and set aside.
Combine first 7 muffin ingredients (flour - salt). Then add oats and
nuts. Make a well in the middle of dry ingredients. In a small bowl,
whisk together buttermilk, egg, and butter. Then add banana. Add
wet to dry and mix just to combine.
Pour batter into muffin cups - about 2/3 full. sprinkle topping over
muffins. Bake 20 -25 min- until gently rounded and slightly
browned. Cool on wire rack.
